Paurush L. Shah, MD

Dr. Paurush Shah has practiced gastroenterology in Southern California for almost a decade. His roots are on the east coast in Pennsylvania, but he has enjoyed the transition to the sunny west coast.

He completed his medical school training at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, also in Philadelphia, PA. Following that, he completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship training at Cooper University Hospital/ MD Anderson Cancer Center in Camden, New Jersey.

During his fellowship, Dr. Shah underwent extensive and rigorous endoscopic training, and he has used this training to better assist in diagnosing and treating his patients. Dr. Shah has enjoyed treating common and uncommon conditions of the gastrointestinal tract and has excelled at evaluating these conditions by means of various procedures including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy. He thrives on helping patients heal so they can lead their best lives.

He is married with two children. His wife grew up in the Mission Viejo area and currently practices OB/GYN in Orange County, CA.

In his spare time, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and watching movies. He also enjoys watching and playing all sports, but is particularly enamored with soccer and tennis.

Hobbies

I enjoy playing and watching sports including soccer, tennis, football, basketball, hockey, and baseball. I played tennis and soccer in high school, and I played DIII tennis at the University of Scranton. Aside from physical activity, I enjoy reading fiction and non-fiction, watching TV and movies, and spending time with family and friends.
